Body Temperature

A Temperature item is a body temperature reading, or the readings a device took over a stretch of time, such as a ring or a patch that measures through the night.

Where your readings come from

These services can send your Temperature data to FitnessSyncer:

FitnessSyncer can send your Temperature data to:

You can also type a reading in yourself in the FitnessSyncer Notebook. Your units, Celsius or Fahrenheit, are set in your Preferences.

My watch recorded my body temperature during a run; where does that go?

We support temperature both in our Activities and Temperature sources. Our Temperature source is more geared towards periodic temperatures, and we prefer your body temperature during your run be part of your metadata for your actual run.

Where does my basal body temperature go?

A basal body temperature you take for your cycle belongs in a Cycle Tracking entry, where it is charted by cycle day beside the rest of your cycle.

Seeing your temperature

Your temperature can be charted on the Dashboard, shaded into the usual body temperature ranges, such as normal and fever. Those ranges assume an oral or ear reading: an underarm reading typically runs lower and a rectal one higher, and we have no way to know which you took. See Reference Bands.

A device that measures many times a day is grouped into one row on your Calendar rather than filling the day, and a chart of days can be opened to show each hour. For FitnessSyncer Pro users, an activity on your Stream also charts your temperature around it.

Comparing readings

FitnessSyncer Compare puts two readings in context: where each sits in your own recent history, whether the difference is larger than your temperature normally varies, and whether they were taken at very different times of day, since body temperature follows a daily rhythm.

Asking your AI assistant

With the FitnessSyncer MCP Server, an AI assistant can tell you how your temperature has changed, compare it with your last few cycles day by day if you track your cycle, and give it to you in your preferred units.

The ranges describe a reading; they do not diagnose one. Nothing here is medical advice.
