Blood Oxygen (SpO2)

Blood Oxygen (SpO2)

An Oxygen item is a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) reading: the percentage of the hemoglobin in your blood that is carrying oxygen. It can be a single reading from a fingertip oximeter, or the readings a watch or a ring took over a stretch of time, often while you slept. Where your device measured your pulse at the same time, that is kept too.

Where your readings come from

You can also type a reading in yourself in the FitnessSyncer Notebook.

Seeing your blood oxygen

The Heart Report charts your blood oxygen beside your heart rate, heart rate variability and breathing rate, and any oxygen chart is shaded into the usual ranges, so a reading of 94% can be read at a glance. See Reference Bands.

Your oxygen through the night is part of comparing your nights of sleep, and for FitnessSyncer Pro users, an activity on your Stream also charts your oxygen around it. A device that measures many times a day is grouped into one row on your Calendar.

Comparing readings

FitnessSyncer Compare puts two readings in context: where each sits in your own recent history, whether the difference is larger than your oxygen normally varies, and the readings either side of each one.

Asking your AI assistant

With the FitnessSyncer MCP Server, an AI assistant can include your blood oxygen in a heart health summary and tell you whether anything is unusual for you right now. See the sample prompts for ideas.

The ranges describe a reading; they do not diagnose one. Nothing here is medical advice.
