FitnessSyncer Accounts FAQ

Why do I need an account?

Apps that work only on your phone can sync only while your phone is awake, and only the data that is on it. FitnessSyncer works in the cloud, so your services keep syncing when your phone is off, from more than 50 apps and devices, on iPhone, Android and the web. Your free account is what keeps those connections working and your data yours.

See what your account gets you, and how we protect your data.

Is FitnessSyncer safe/secure?

Your data is encrypted whenever it is sent and wherever it is stored, including our backups.

We take your privacy seriously, as you can read in our Privacy Policy.

You can enhance your account’s security by using Passkey Authentication or Two Factor Authentication.

What do you store?

FitnessSyncer securely stores your account information, all of the data stored for your tasks, metadata associated with those tasks, and data to produce our dashboards. We only access the information required to provide you with this service.

Do you support Passkeys?

Yes, we do; for information, please see our documentation.

Do you support Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Yes, we do; for information, please see our documentation.

Can I sign in with Google or Apple?

Yes. Continue with Google and Continue with Apple are on both the sign in and the sign up pages, on FitnessSyncer.com and in our apps. If you do not already have a FitnessSyncer account, signing in this way creates one for you, and there is no password to choose or remember.

You can attach both, and you can still sign in with your e-mail address and password as well. Which ones are attached is shown on My Profile, along with when each was last used.

I already have a FitnessSyncer password. Can I start using Google or Apple?

Yes, but you have to attach it from inside your account first:

  • Go to My Profile
  • Find the Linked accounts section and choose Link Google or Link Apple
  • Sign in at Google or Apple as you normally would, and you will come back to My Profile

Until you do that, pressing Continue with Google or Continue with Apple will not let you in, even when the address at Google or Apple is the same as your FitnessSyncer address. That is deliberate. If we attached accounts on a matching address alone, then anybody who gained control of that mailbox at Google or Apple would reach your FitnessSyncer account without ever knowing your password, and unlike a password reset there would be nothing in your inbox to warn you. Signing in while already signed in to FitnessSyncer is the proof that the account is yours.

I signed up with Google or Apple. How do I get a password?

Reset your password. Despite the name, it works just as well for setting a first one: we send an e-mail to your address and you choose the password from there. Your Google or Apple sign in keeps working afterward, so you will have both.

You need a password for the few places that ask you to confirm the one you have, such as changing your e-mail address. Everything else works without one.

I can’t log in; what can I do?

  • Passwords are case-sensitive, so please ensure that you enter them correctly, especially for FitnessSyncer for Android and FitnessSyncer for iOS.
  • If you have disabled cookies in your browser, please re-enable them. If you are not sure, try a different browser.
  • If you have forgotten your password, you may reset your password, and we’ll send you an e-mail and get the process started.
  • If you are still unable to login, please contact us, and we will investigate. Please specify if this is on our website or one of our apps.

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password, visit here, and we’ll send you an e-mail and get the process started.

If you do not receive the e-mail within a few minutes, please check your spam folder. If you still do not see it, please contact us.

How do I change my e-mail address?

From FitnessSyncer.com:

  • Go to My Profile
  • Expand the Change E-mail section
  • Update your E-mail Address and click Update

This asks for your current password. If you signed up with Google or Apple and have never set one, reset your password first to choose one, then come back.

Changing your e-mail address here does not affect a Google or Apple sign in you have attached. Those stay attached to your account rather than to the address, so they keep working, and you do not have to change anything at Google or Apple either.

If you are using our app or need assistance, please contact us, and we will change your e-mail address for you.

How do I delete my account?

From FitnessSyncer.com:

  • Go to My Profile
  • Expand the Delete Account section
  • Follow the instructions

If you are using our app:

  • Open the app’s settings: tap the account button at the top right of any tab in the newest version, or the Settings tab in earlier ones
  • Scroll down and select the Delete Account option
  • Follow the instructions

If you need assistance, please contact us and we will delete your account.

How can I download or export my data?

The easiest way to bulk export your data is either by add a Destination task per Data Type to either CSV Data or other Data Formats to a Cloud-based Storage Service.

You can also download a copy of your data per source in CSV file format with the Source Editor on FitnessSyncer.com (this is not available in the apps) or download individual files in the FitnessSyncer Stream (this is not available in the apps).
